As its name suggests the Association Européenne de Coaching has, since its inception in 2005, always had its eyes turned towards Europe.
A first foray into Europe in 2006 resulted in the creation of AEC Luxembourg, followed in 2007 by AEC Belgium, both now thriving national coaching communities.
However, in 2008 a quantum leap in fulfilling AEC’s European ambitions was achieved: AEC affiliated to the European Coaching and Mentoring Council (EMCC) thus becoming the exclusive French arm of this pan-European organisation. Our full name therefore became AEC-EMCC France.
In turn, AEC Luxemburg and AEC Belgium have also joined the EMCC.
The EMCC brings together all parties interested in coaching and mentoring, and exists to promote good practice and the expectation of good practice in coaching and mentoring across Europe. By end 2008, it will have over 3000 members in 14 countries, with more countries affiliating all the time. See www.emccouncil.org

Future benefits currently being planned include:
The AEC has two seats on the Council, the EMCC’s governing body, and members are currently working together with European colleagues on issues such as:
In joining forces with the EMCC, the AEC thus remains faithful to its vocation by bringing our vision to the European table and joining with others in building a reputable coaching profession.
Together we are creating a true European identity for the coaching profession, with a strong scientific basis and its own standards of practice. This will serve to lend credibility within the ranks of coaches themselves as also to our clients who benefit from coaching.
